Prescriptions
Repeat Prescriptions are ordered by handing in or posting the repeat prescription slip, stating which chemist you wish to collect your medicines from. Please allow 48 (working) hours notice, before you collect your medicines from the chemist.
Please do not telephone for repeat prescriptions unless you are housebound.
We usually give 28 days supply of most medications. Medication should only be used by the patient to whom it has been prescribed. If it is not used then it cannot be given to another patient. If more than one months worth, and for any reason you need to change medication, the surplus of medication is wasted. The scale of wastage across the UK in the past has been worth millions of pounds. Preventing this waste means more money can be used for other NHS services.
Medication Reviews
At certain intervals, usually every 6 months or every year, The Doctor needs to make sure that your medication is still doing its job properly and your condition is being monitored.
How will I know when my review is due?
Your repeat medication form will highlight when your medication review is due. If it is overdue please make an appointment with the doctors.
If you do not have a review we may not issue any more medications until you have been seen.
